HORSE CARE AND STABLE DAYS

HORSE CARE

Conquest Centre offers regular, supervised Horse Care sessions which provide fabulous opportunities for clients to socialise, learn how to relate to others and make new friends. They also develop understanding which can be transferred to their own lives, for example learning to wash a horse’s mane encourages personal hygiene and cleaning tack relates to the importance of wearing clean clothes. These sessions are open to all and are particularly beneficial for people with additional needs.

STABLE DAYS

Stable Days at Conquest Centre are just like owning your own pony for a day! These days offer children (both disabled and non-disabled) the opportunity to improve their understanding of riding and horse husbandry in a relaxed and fun environment, with a chance to socialise and make new friends. They will learn the theory and, through highly interactive tasks, put into practice all aspects of horse riding and care. These days include 2 riding lessons, horse care/grooming etc.

If your child is coming on a Stable Day, make sure they bring a packed lunch, a water bottle, sensible footwear and plenty of warm clothes. In summer, sunblock and a sun hat are essential. If it is your first time, make sure you arrive a few minutes early, as you will need to complete some paperwork in the office. We have riding boots and hats here, so don’t worry if your child does not have their own.

Stable Days take place during every school holiday, and places are limited. Check our calendar for dates, or contact the office on 01823 433 614.
