Pecuniary Bequest (when you give a fixed gift of money left in a will


I give the following charitable legacy absolutely: - to Conquest Centre For Disabled Riders, Conquest Farm, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, Somerset, TA2 6PN (Charity Number 1103883) the sum of £………………. for the purposes of the charity and with full power to expend capital as well as income for such purposes, and I direct that a receipt from the Finance Director or other authorised official for the time being shall be good and sufficient discharge to my executors for the payment to the Charity.

Specific Bequest (when you give a specific item in your will)


I make the following charitable gift absolutely:- to Conquest Centre For Disabled Riders, Conquest Farm, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, Somerset, TA2 6PN (Charity Number 1103883) ***a clear description of item(s) to be bequested*** with full power to realise such assets and to apply the proceeds to the general purposes of the charity and I direct that a receipt from the Finance Director or other authorised official for the time being shall be good and sufficient to discharge to my executors for the payment to the Charity.

Residuary Legacy (when you give away the rest of your estate after all debts, taxes, expenses legacies to family, friends etc. have been settled)


I devise and bequest (a percentage of) the residue of my estate absolutely: - to Conquest Centre For Disabled Riders, Conquest Farm, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, Somerset, TA2 6PN (Charity Number 1103883) to be applied to the general purposes of the charity and with full power to expend capital as well as income for such purposes and I direct that a receipt from the Finance Director or other authorised official for the time being shall be good and sufficient discharge to my executors for the payment to the Charity.

A Reversionary Bequest


Enables you to specify what you would like to happen to a gift after the death of the original beneficiary. For a Reversionary bequest you should seek the advice of your solicitor as a more complex form of wording is required. You can if you wish use the services of the Charity’s solicitor at no cost to you.

A Codicil adding a bequest to an existing will:-


I (your name) of (your address) declare this to be the first (or second etc.) codicil to my will dated (date of will) and made the (day) of (month) (year). In addition to the legacies given by my said will I give the following charitable legacy absolutely:- to Conquest Centre For Disabled Riders, Conquest Farm, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, Somerset, TA2 6PN (Charity Number 1103883) for the general purposes of the charity and with full power to expend capital as well as income for such purposes, and I direct that a receipt from the Finance Director or other authorised official for the time being shall be good and sufficient discharge to my executors for the payment to the charity. In all other respects I confirm my said will (a codicil needs to be separately signed, dated and witnessed by two independent witnesses as a will in its own right).
