YURTABILITY & YURTABILITY FOREST SCHOOL
We are thrilled to announce that Yurtability will be offering Forest School sessions for individuals and small groups within Conquest Centre for children aged 8-16 years. Yurtability Forest School day will be student led whilst focusing on meeting the social and emotional needs of the individual.
Activities could include: fire lighting, camp fire cooking, whittling, environmental art, green woodwork, den building, survival skills, games, circle time, exploring nature, whilst also supporting each Key Stage when required, but most of all having WILD FUN!
We promote mixed age groups working together; we believe this enhances peer learning and support and encourages the unity of the group in a more natural community based way.
James will also be offering one-hour English and Maths private tuition for Key Stages 2-4 in our cosy yurt, where students can relax on bean bags in front of a roaring log burner.
James Maechler and Clare Machell are fully qualified Forest School Practitioners with up to date paediatric first aid certificates and DBS checks.
James is also a qualified English teacher with 8 years’ experience in both Secondary and Further Education. James has worked with children with additional needs to enable them to achieve gaining English qualifications. He has a passion for learning outdoors and enabling young people to achieve their potential.
Clare comes from a youthwork background, she has been a Forest School Practitioner since 2003 delivering Forest School programmes locally, she has studied Bushcraft and delivered Forest School Training.
