Vision and Mission

The Conquest Centre strategy was produced with input from staff, clients and volunteers.

In 2023 Trustees and staff revisited the Vision and Mission to assess whether it needs updating but it was universally agreed that it continues to accurately reflect the work and ambition of the charity.

Vision

For everyone to have access to the therapeutic support they need in a safe, natural and non-judgemental setting to improve emotional, social, physical and mental wellbeing.

Mission

To provide therapeutic support involving equines, small animals and the environment to enable each individual to thrive.

Our four core philosophies

Our most successful outcomes are achieved when we work in the sweet spot that sits between our 4 core philosophies, using the foundation of relevant scientific research:

  1. Involving animals
  2. Encouraging movement and exercise
  3. Working in nature and the outdoors
  4. Developing healthy relationships

Aims of the charity

  • Provide bespoke therapies, personalised to their needs to improve wellbeing, increase independence and nurture talent.
  • Stay tuned to the latest research, consult experts when needed and use the information to build unique, compelling and successful therapeutic programmes.
  • Nurture talent and promote learning to build a dextrous team of staff and volunteers providing the care people need, at the time they need it and at a price they can afford.
  • Work in a trauma informed way, focus on the process as well as the outcomes and are nimble in our approach.
  • Be financially smart and manage our resources intelligently.
  • Work creatively with our donors and benefactors and celebrate everyone who supports us.
  • Work collaboratively with like-minded organisations to support more people.
  • Become a knowledge base, inspire others, share our successes and influence best practice in our field.
  • Lead by example and become known for exceptional animal welfare; in particular we will be pioneering in the husbandry of working equines.
